Who is it for?

• Parents/Carers with children who show
violent, aggressive, controlling or selfdestructive behaviours (aged 5 – 17yrs)
• Families across Hampshire, Southampton,
Portsmouth and Isle of Wight

How does it work?

• By breaking the cycle of violent and
aggressive behaviour
• Creating a support network for the whole
family
• Giving siblings a voice and support
• Flexible ongoing NVR support service
available on completion, to help parents
stay on track and make sustainable
changes

What is it?

• 10 weekly practical group sessions
providing NVR (Non-violent
Resistance) strategies and guidance
• Engaging activities that build social
and emotional capabilities

What will it change?

• Building positive relationships within the
family unit
• Empowering parents to change their
responses and resist violent behaviour
• Reducing frequency and/or severity of
violent incidents
• Improving school attendance
• Improving relationships with professionals
