Friends of Mary Rose Academy

The Mary Rose Academy is a special school for 181 pupils aged 2-19 years, situated across three sites in Portsmouth. We provide a highly specialist, personalised curriculum for young people with the most profound, severe and complex learning difficulties. In addition, the majority of pupils have co-occurring needs including: Autism Spectrum Condition, severe physical disabilities and highly complex medical conditions.
In addition to their learning difficulties the majority of pupils have other needs associated with physical disabilities, autistic spectrum condition and medical conditions.
The Friends of Mary Rose is a small group of parents, relatives, friends and staff who work together to support the school in all kinds of ways. They organise social events to encourage families to get together, share experiences and have a good time. At the same time they also raise funds so to buy specialist equipment that the school could not otherwise afford.
