In every corner of Portsmouth, people are doing extraordinary things - volunteering to help the less fortunate, checking in on someone who’s lonely, running groups that lift people up when times are tough.
• £20 becomes £40 – this could provide three hours of support for our Volunteer Bureau, which works to ensure every organisation in the city can find the helping hands it needs.
• £50 becomes £100 – which could let us offer six hours of expert support for local charities and community groups, to help keep their doors open and reach more people.
• £100 becomes £200 – which could enable us to provide 10 hours of support amplifying the voices of people with lived experience of mental health challenges, and helping them shape the services and support that truly work for them.
But too often, these acts of kindness happen in isolation. That’s where HIVE Portsmouth comes in.
We bring people and organisations together to tackle the city’s biggest challenges, from poverty and hunger to health inequalities and loneliness. We connect people with the right help at the right time, and we support the charities and volunteers who make our city stronger every day.

This week, we’re taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge - the UK’s biggest match-funding campaign - giving you the chance to double your impact and support the work that keeps Portsmouth connected, compassionate, and resilient. Donations made during the week of the Big Give - December 2 – 9 - will be generously matched by our Big Give Champion Hampshire Cricket Foundation.
You can give any amount. And if you donate £50 or more between now and Tuesday 9 December you'll be a HIVE Hero, recognised on our Heroes Wall, unless you'd prefer to remain anonymous.
