Portsmouth City of Sanctuary in partnership with Baby Basics Portsmouth are pleased to provide an awareness session focusing on Maternity Support Options for Migrant Women (Asylum Seekers/NRPF/Refugees) Join us on Wed Jul 24 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Empower Centre. 

This event aims to provide valuable information and resources to front line professionals such as midwives, health visitors, social workers, nursery workers and the wider charity sector who are working with asylum seekers, individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), and refugees. The course will outline the maternity grant entitlements for migrant women depending on immigration status, the barriers faced by pregnant migrant women, and support options for pregnant migrant women.

Baby Basics is a well established charity serving families across Portsmouth and wider afield since 2016. They work closely with agencies that support families and work in referral basis to capture the most vulnerable. They offer the best items from pre-loved and new for the unborn and pre-school children. You will have an opportunity to hear from them and how they support migrant women in the city.
