Welcome to the Portsmouth Natural History Museum based at Cumberland House.

There is lots to explore on site, including visiting our lively Butterfly House, walking through an A-Z of natural history, meeting Emily the dinosaur, and completing our seasonal activity trails. You can also enjoy the local area by sitting in our garden, grabbing a bite to eat in one of the nearby cafes, or watching the swans on Canoe Lake.

The Museum is free to visit for PO1-PO6 residents, with a small entry fee for those outside of this postcode. Please see the website for more details. Postcodes will be taken by a member of the team upon arrival.

You may be required to queue during busy periods.
Pre-booking is required for groups.
There is not a designated car park on site, but roadside parking and carparks are nearby (restrictions and fees apply).
Wheelchair users accessible to the ground floor, which includes access to the Butterfly House. We do not have a lift.

Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, 10am-5pm. Last admission is 4pm.
Closed on 24, 25, & 26 December and 01 January.
