Aspex Portsmouth - Generate

Aspex has been running Generate – a free, inclusive art workshop for people with dementia – since 2015.

Providing a comfortable space to explore art, Generate takes place every Friday in our Learning Space. The sessions are led by artists Roy Eneas and Abi Wheeler, who support the participants to follow their own creative interests and find the techniques, materials and subject matter that inspires them.

Many of our participants join us with no arts background and those who do have some experience may not have painted or sketched for a long time. Over the years, we have seen how quickly people can develop their skills, gaining confidence and enjoyment through arts activities.

We currently have space for more members to join the group. If you’d like to find out more, please contact Dianna Djokey, Learning Programme Manager, at dianna@aspex.org.uk or on 02392 778080.

Beyond Reflections

Beyond Reflections is a charity working to create a safe community for gender-diverse people and their allies. We provide various support services, including support groups, 121 support, counselling, safe social spaces and activity groups, and practical support and advice, designed with and for the community.

We are a trans+ friendly third-party hate crime reporting center and provide victim support and signposting, even if you don't want to report. You do not need to have suffered a transphobic hate crime to speak to us.

We are also involved in projects that seek to better the lives of trans+ people and work with other organizations and individuals to run educational workshops throughout the year.

Our life-changing work would not be possible without our volunteers, so if you are passionate about making the world a better place for trans+ people, contact us.
