CIS'ters

Rape, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children is endemic within our society.

Society and individuals within it, need to become more aware of the prevalence and impact of such crimes on victims and take responsibility for the prevention and detection of such abuse, and the facilitation of recovery processes.

CIS’ters was set up in September 1995 by Gillian, a female survivor of childhood sexual abuse by a member of her immediate family.

Our mission is to raise awareness of the existence of sexual abuse during childhood and to highlight the needs of those directly and indirectly affected. We are a peer based organisation and offer emotional support to adult females, who as female children were sexually abused within a family environment, the opportunity to join CIS’ters as a member.

Please Note: Our website also includes information to help the wider community of victim/survivors, friends and non-abusing family, plus professionals.

Freedom Programme

Stop Domestic Abuse supports and protects victims and survivors of domestic abuse and stalking. We provide a range of flexible and accessible services across Hampshire. We help perpetrators, the police and other agencies. The Freedom Programme is about abusive and controlling behaviour in relationships. Each week looks at a different aspect of behaviour, looking at what the abuser says and how it is said, what the abuser does and why we believe them. It helps to identify the common tactics to gain power and control. The group works to look at the characteristics that can create both abusive and caring relationships.
