Applications are now OPEN to for voluntary and community groups to bid for up to £1,000 of Portsmouth Community Lottery funding.
We know that things can tight in the lead-up to the festive period for those working in the VCSE sector and these grants can be used for any equipment or activities which benefit the local community.
The wonderful Spark Community Space was among the groups who benefitted from the latest round of funding last month. They received £1,000 to start running exercise classes on a pay as you can afford basis. Group exercise is invaluable for mental and physical wellbeing but can be expensive so the grant will subsidise classes for those who are unable to pay the market rate.
Other previous recipients have used the money for initiatives including offering subsidised sports lessons, social activities for unpaid carers and installing baby change facilities – the possibilities are endless.
