Christmas Connections Grant Programme now open

McCarthy Stone Foundation is once again opening their Christmas Connections Grant Programme.

The programme is all about helping older people who may be isolated or lonely over the festive period, by supporting local groups that are organising events/activities.

Typical examples of things the grants support include:

  • Trip out to a Christmas market
  • A subsidised/free Christmas meal together
  • Delivery of Christmas meals/care packages
  • Small gifts as part of a befriending initiative
  • Costs of befriending visits/volunteer expenses

Funding is available for organisations with an income of less than £250,000 a year and the focus will be on volunteer-led initiatives.

Activities must take place between December 1 2023 and  January 2 2024.

Registered charities, community groups with constitutions, and Community Interest Companies (CIC) limited by guarantee may apply. Priority will be given to groups where activities are free/low cost at point of use, to ensure inclusivity and equity.

Grants are up to a maximum of £1,000 and £30,000 of total funds will be awarded.
