We believe that research should be shaped by and alongside those it is designed to support.
HIVE Portsmouth is working in partnership with the Solent NHS Trust Academy of Research & Improvement on a long-term programme to ensure that patients and people in the community are fully involved in health and care research in Portsmouth. This includes looking into wider health and social issues, evaluating services to improve their quality, as well as medical research.
One of our first projects will focus on the health and wellbeing of people with disabilities, including people with a sensory impairment.
We want to talk to people living with a disability or sensory impairment to understand what types of support we could put in place that would help them get involved in local research, including doing research themselves. We would like people to work with us from the start to shape how this project gets delivered.
