Share some Comfort and Joy this Christmas

For the last 19 years, the people of Portsmouth have helped to support local people experiencing homelessness through the wonderful ‘Comfort and Joy’ scheme.

The voucher scheme, which is run by Churches Homeless Action has raised over £180,000 since Christmas 2002.

The group is aiming to raise £20,0000 for its 20th year to hit a grand total of £200,0000.

The scheme has two elements – the gathering of vouchers or gift cards for £5 so that those who receive them can choose their own gift, and the sharing of a Christmas card and a personal message.

These are then shared with local charities and groups who support those who are homeless.

This year, the scheme is hoping to support Two Saints, Stop Domestic Abuse, Roberts Centre, Catherine Booth House, The Society of St James, Sunday Suppers, Portsmouth Churches Housing Association, Life House, Friends without Borders, Hope into Action and Portsmouth City of Sanctuary.
