Join the team - Project Coordinator (Community Health)

HIVE Portsmouth works with individuals, communities and other organisations to improve the health and well being of people in Portsmouth.   Key partners include health and care statutory organisations with the city and the hundreds of voluntary, community and social enterprise groups (VCSE) who play a pivotal role in supporting local people.  We actively support and develop the VCSE sector within the city and enable and support social action on issues that face people within Portsmouth.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Project Coordinator (Community Health) to support, develop, coordinate and deliver a pilot project to strengthen the links between community and primary care health services and the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. The role has been made possible from funding through the Portsmouth Provider Partnership (PPP) which is in place until March 2024 but if successful, the project could be implemented on an ongoing basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to build positive partnerships across VCSE organisations and health services and develop new ways for Portsmouth residents to remain independent and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.

We are looking for someone who has, or can demonstrate how they will acquire, an in-depth knowledge of community and VCSE services within Portsmouth. The role requires excellent organisational and record keeping skills, an awareness of the pressures facing health and care services and a commitment to HIVE Portsmouth’s charitable objectives.  The postholder must be passionate about supporting the sector, demonstrating the impact of the sector, and creating capacity to strengthen the sector. Being solution focused is key. We’re working to reduce demand on formal health and care services and are looking for someone to confidently suggest credible alternatives to these services to help people achieve their goals.
