Since moving to Portsmouth in 2005, Anthony has been a quiet force of good in our community, supporting everyone from NHS staff to pharmacy teams, from RNLI lifeboat crews to frontline responders.
He’s given his time at COVID vaccination centres, the South Central Ambulance Service mobile welfare unit at QA Hospital, local pharmacies, the RNLI and the Air Ambulance and, at 71-years-old, shows no sign of slowing down.
Anthony’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. He was nominated for an Outstanding Contribution award by the SCAS charity and has a 10-year certificate for volunteering with the Air Ambulance.
He said: “There’s real personal satisfaction in helping people at the point of need. You don’t always have to do something practical. Sometimes it’s just about being there, knowing when to smile - or when not to!”
Thank you for your incredible service - you are what volunteering is all about.
