We’re looking for a Disabilities Hub Coordinator to play a key role in shaping a new Disabilities Hub in the city – a space that supports people with physical and sensory disabilities.
About the role
Job Title: Disabilities Hub Coordinator
Salary: £25,000 per year
Contract: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Reporting to: Deputy CEO
Location: Portsmouth
DBS Check: Basic level required
As the Disabilities Hub Coordinator, you’ll be the face of our brand-new hub, working closely with individuals, families, community groups, and health and care partners to co-produce and deliver an inclusive and welcoming support space.
Key responsibilities
1. Hub Advisor
- Be the first point of contact for the public – whether in person, via phone or email.
- Offer compassionate, informed advice and empower people to find the right support.
- Use our CRM system to record contact and outcomes, ensuring safeguarding is always a priority.
2. Community engagement
- Apply Asset Based Community Development principles to build trust and relationships.
- Co-create solutions with residents, organisations, and partners.
- Organise events, gather feedback, and report on engagement activities.
3. Digital champion volunteer support
- Recruit and support Digital Champion Volunteers for the Hub.
- Provide ongoing training and coordinate cover as needed.
4. Team & organisational support
- Collaborate with the wider HIVE team, sharing insights and supporting linked projects.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal policies.
- Represent HIVE Portsmouth with professionalism and integrity at all times.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different needs and communication styles.
- A collaborative team player who thrives under pressure.
Desirable experience
- Direct experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Understanding of disability rights and related legislation.
- Experience with GDPR/Information Governance.
- A creative, solution-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with Asset Based Community Development (ABCD).
