A free monthly art club for young people aged between 11-17 years old who are neurodiverse, have special educational needs and/or disabilities at Aspex Portsmouth.
The club runs on the first Sunday of each month, starting at 11am and finishing at 1pm and will be held in our communal space. We will explore a variety of different creative activities using a mix of materials to co-create with our participants whilst building a sense of community. The sessions will be led and facilitated by our Creative Engagement manager, Karl, who has 10 years working in the SEND sector and supported by our gallery assistant, Gracie.
Sessions are free. Please book and provide any additional information you feel may be useful, sessions can be supported by adults or carers. Our approach prioritises the social model of disability and aims to create an appropriate, safe environment which is welcoming and accepting of all ways of being, adapting the environment to lessen the potential for anything which might trigger anxiety or distress.
There will be the option to explore an Arts Award within this programme.
