Portsmouth100 Community Grants

Portsmouth is preparing for a very special milestone: in 2026, our city will mark 100 years of city status.

Portsmouth City Council has launched the Portsmouth100 Community Grants programme - a chance for residents, groups, and charities to bring their ideas to life and create something memorable for their community.

This is more than just funding; it’s an invitation to be part of the city’s story. Whether you want to host a street party, organise a creative arts project, plant something beautiful in your neighbourhood or bring people together for a community lunch, these grants are designed to help make it happen.

Grants will support activities that reflect our history, showcase our culture, honour local people and look ahead to the future. Funding will be distributed across all 14 wards, ensuring that every corner of Portsmouth has the chance to join in the celebrations.

There are opportunities for everyone to get involved:

  • Individuals living in Portsmouth (PO1–PO6) can apply for grants of £100–£250 to deliver one‑off projects.
  • Groups and charities based in the city can apply for grants of £250–£1,000 to create activities that strengthen community ties and mark the centenary in meaningful ways.

Projects must be based in Portsmouth, benefit local residents, and be delivered during the centenary year. Successful applicants will be asked to share a short report and photos afterwards, helping to showcase the impact of these celebrations across the city.

Applications are open now and will close at 12 noon on Friday 30 January 2026. To apply, simply complete the online form with details of your project.
