Funders have application windows; not all of them will be open now, but knowing about relevant funds allows you to make a plan for future funding bids and look out for updates from that funder.
For a strong bid, be clear about what you need funding for: this is a good time to build a document library about your organisation; the needs you are meeting; a short summary of your aims and objectives; any local and national statistics that support your work; a project summary for each area of work; an estimate of some of the costs that you need to take into account in any bid and any testimonials or positive comments or feedback about your work.
Remember many funders are very oversubscribed and you will not be successful every time but do keep going and try not to be discouraged. Consider joint bids with partner organisations – funders like to see groups working together.
