We are a leading UK specialist in helping people to find the right care. We were established 20 years ago, at first helping families who needed to choose a care home but today, we do so much more. Our service is provided at no charge to patients and families and we provide independent advice from our network of over 3,000 care homes and providers across England. Our wider organisation works alongside NHS Trusts and CCGs across the UK.

Some face-to-face activities and groups offered by the independence and wellbeing team are on hold for now.

What we do
Caritas works as the diocese outreach organisation… we are not the only part of the Diocese undertaking outreach work, as many parishes and teams also are involved in outreach…

However, Caritas is solely concerned with outreach, with bringing the Bishop’s vision of “bringing people to Jesus through his church” to life by being outward looking servants.

All that Caritas does is based on Catholic Social Teaching.

Caritas Portsmouth works at grassroots level through our parish communities. Inspired by Catholic faith, Caritas is the helping hand of the Church – reaching out to the poor, vulnerable and excluded, regardless of race or religion, to build a world based on justice and fraternal love.

Second Tuesday of Every Month 2- 3.30 pm

The knitting group at Caroline Square provides a welcoming space where people can come along to knit and socialise. If you are unable to knit but would like to learn, we can teach you! There will be the opportunity to take part in community knitting projects, we have knitting supplies available if you don't have your own.

We would also welcome anyone who would like to volunteer at the group.

Catalyst is a provider of evidence-based wellbeing support for individuals and organisations. Our services for individuals include Cognitive Behavioural hypnotherapy, mindfulness, sleep therapy and menopause support. For organisations we provide an independent supervision service, Action Learning facilitation and workshops and training supporting a healthy workplace culture.

Age supported: 16+

Catch22 designs and delivers services that build resilience and aspiration in people of all ages and within communities across the UK. Our main goal is to ensure that everyone has the 3 P’s—a place to live, good people around them and a purpose in life. Across Hampshire, including Portsmouth, we deliver a Personal Wellbeing service for men on probation. We receive our referrals from probation practitioners and provide structured intervention-based work supporting those who are on probation with their wellbeing needs.

In Portsmouth and the rest of Hampshire, we support all ages via our Personal Wellbeing Commissioned Rehabilitative Service.

Cathedral Dental Practice is a caring and modern private practice offering a comprehensive range of general, cosmetic and specialised dental treatments to you and your family.

The Cathedral Discovery Centre, situated at the car park entrance to the Cathedral, is a resource for the benefit to the Parish, the Diocese and the community at large. It comprises meeting rooms with kitchen facility and a shop.
