Charter offers a superb choice of swimming, gym and sports facilities. It’s also one of few places where you can get box-fit and duck, weave and spar under the careful guidance of our expert instructors.

Chat over Chai is an informal, informative and independent committee led Community group for adults (18+) which aims to support physical, mental and emotional well-being whilst reducing social isolation.

We are a welcoming, friendly and diverse group who come together weekly on Thursdays for a stimulating programme of talks, courses and events, enhancing our learning in many subject areas and increasing our knowledge of facilities and services available in the City of Portsmouth and local area.

Regular session times Thursdays 12.30 – 2.30 Thursdays, no need to book, just drop in.

Suggested voluntary contribution £1.00 per session

This is a monthly event for childfree women or those who identify as non-binary, who are struggling, or have struggled with fertility issues. It is a space to share your experiences if you feel comfortable doing so, to meet people having similar experiences and to find mutual support. Or to just hang out and have a chat

The Childhood Bereavement Network (CBN) is the hub for those working with bereaved children, young people and their families across the UK.

Childline is here to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through.

You can talk about anything. Whether it’s something big or small, our trained counsellors are here to support you.

Aimed at children aged 7-16 this session is for youngsters interested in improving their drawing skills. Local artist Andy White will show you how to how to draw with pencils, pens or felt tips. He will teach different methods and help you come up with new ideas. Suitable for beginners or the more advanced. Materials will be provided but you can bring your own if you wish – Andy will show you how to get the best out of them. Andy has a Facebook group you can join if you would like to keep up to date with group activities.

Downham Lodge is an eight-bedroom residential home for men and women with mental health conditions. Current residents range in age from 19 to 59. The home can support a wide spectrum of conditions, including personality disorder, schizophrenia and acquired brain injury.

Chop, Cook, Chat teaches basic cooking skills to men aged 50+ who have had a change in circumstance such as a bereavement or becoming a carer.

It’s a great opportunity to meet other men in a similar situation as well as learning the skills needed to prepare healthy meals.

The cost of each session is £5, which includes refreshments, tasters and food to take home.
