Nurture Bereavement Support

Bereavement support for children and young people.

As the tragedy of Covid-19 unfolds the death toll continues to rise, it won’t be long before everyone will know of someone who has died. Children and young people can be badly affected by loss and adults often don’t have the skills or courage to talk openly about it with them.

Nurtureuk has produced a specially edited version of their Bereavement Box that helps anyone supporting bereaved children and young people understand what they may be experiencing with helpful suggestions on approaches and exercises to help children cope better with their grief.

The Bereavement Guide is available to download free of charge

PARCS (Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service)

Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service (PARCS) is trauma informed service which aims to address sexual violence and domestic abuse in our community and across the UK by facilitating awareness through our training, supervision and consultancy to community groups and services.

PARCS is here to listen, believe and support you.

Our counselling service gives you an opportunity to talk to someone about your experiences and how they may be impacting you and your life. We offer a space to support you to heal and help empower you in being yourself and making your own choices. This is why we work with everyone as an individual with the clients need at the centre of everything we do. Sometimes you may wish to work creatively through drawings or objects, or you may just wish for your story to be heard. Whatever you bring, we are here for you.

Playland

A new venue in Portsmouth by and for people under 30. We are re-imagining Playland – the abandoned arcade on Commercial Road – into a vibrant, youth-led creative space. And it’s a totally blank canvas…for now!

Wherever you are on your journey and whatever you are passionate about – Playland is a safe space to express yourself, and access opportunities to build skills and experience for your creative career.

We’re looking for young people aged 16 – 30 to help shape every part of this new space: from designing the blank-canvas interior into a functional and playful space, to planning what will take place there.

In return we’ll offer training, mentoring, and shadowing opportunities, and we will support you to make your ‘dream’ events come true. This is a chance for you to co-create something from the ground up, shaping it as YOU think it should be.
