African Women's ForumThe African Women’s Forum (AWF) was founded in 1995 to provide opportunities for social contact, communication and emotional support for African women in Portsmouth, directly replicating the support that would have been provided by closely related women in African societies.
AWF also works with local communities and organizations to increase inter-cultural understanding between Africans and the wider community. The African Women's Forum's main aim is to provide opportunities for mutual communication by having social contact as well as emotional support for African Women residing in Portsmouth. |

We are a welcoming, friendly and diverse group who come together weekly on Thursdays for a stimulating programme of talks, courses and events, enhancing our learning in many subject areas and increasing our knowledge of facilities and services available in the City of Portsmouth and local area. Our Helpline is run by trained bereavement volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by grief. We’ll give you space to talk about your feelings and how you’ve been coping. Enable Ability - Adult ServicesEnable Ability is established as an independent charity for the care, welfare and advancement of people with disabilities living in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. We work in partnership with disabled children and adults, their families and carers to provide a range of high quality, professional and confidential services.
