HIVE Portsmouth, Portsmouth City Council & the National Lottery Community Fund are delighted to announce the launch of the ‘Portsmouth Encouraging Innovation Grant.’
Individuals and groups, that can demonstrate innovative ideas and projects that benefit the Portsmouth community are being encouraged to apply. 
HIVE Portsmouth have been successful in securing £100,000 to deliver the ‘Encouraging Innovation Fund’ to pilot innovative ideas, support early intervention initiatives and promote a sustainable VCSE community in Portsmouth that is able to adapt in response to COVID-19. With the support of the National Lottery Community Fund and Portsmouth City Council we will provide support for innovative ideas and projects within Portsmouth communities. We want to encourage anyone, from small local voluntary or community groups or individuals with lived experiences to apply for funding.
The closing date for stage one applications is the 9th April with decisions being announced at the end of May.  If you have any questions then please email grants@hiveportsmouth.org.uk and our team will be able to support you as you develop your proposal.

The Portsmouth City Community Fund was established by Portsmouth City Council from a number of charitable trusts. The fund supports a wide range of beneficiaries including young people, older people, health & disability, medical research and general community projects.

Percy Bilton Charity- Grants for Organisations
Funding is available to UK registered charities with primary objectives to assist one or more of the following groups: disadvantaged/underprivileged young people (persons under 25); people with disabilities (physical or learning disabilities or mental health problems); older people (aged over 60).
Two grant programmes are in operation as follows:
Large grants - one off payments for capital expenditure of approximately £2,000 and over. The majority of grants fall within the range of £2,000 to £5,000.
Small grants - donations of up to £500.
Applications can be made at any time.

Woodward Charitable Trust - Children's Summer Playscheme Grant
Grants are available for locally based small-scale registered charities in the UK to support children's summer playschemes.
One-off grants of between £500 and £1,000 are available. Around 35 grants are made per year.
The Children's Summer Playscheme grant is provided by the Woodward Charitable Trust, a grant-making trust that is one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts.  The funding is intended to support small-scale organisations that provide children's summer playschemes that run for a minimum of two weeks or ten days across the summer holidays.
2021 Round - The Trustees recognise that the last year has placed an exceptional burden on children and families and that this has impacted mental health as well as the need for some children to catch up on missed education. It has put aside additional funds for this year's summer schemes to help in the mitigation of this and would welcome applications which address these issues.
UK registered charities with an annual turnover of less than £100,000 can apply.
Funding is available for the provision of children's summer playschemes for children between the ages of 5-16 years.
The deadline for applications is 8 April 2021 (12 noon).

Arnold Clark Community Fund
Grants are available for UK registered charities and local community groups who need financial assistance due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.
Maximum Value: £ 1,000
Arnold Clark, the UK’s largest independently owned, family-run car retailer, has created the Arnold Clark Community Fund to support communities across the UK in which it operates.  During the months of March 2021, April, 2021, and May 2021, 500 grants of up to £1,000 will be awarded through a monthly draw.
The fund aims to help UK charities and local community groups continue their important work which may be at risk due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Applications will be accepted from 1 March 2021 until 31 May 2021 (23:59)

Margaret Dobson Further Education Trust - General Grants
Grants are available to small UK registered charities working to support people with a learning disability to learn skills to help them live more independent lives after they leave formal education.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available.
The Trust offers funding to support young people who have learning disabilities, with a focus on those who have left formal education. Grants are available for small UK registered charities that promote education, learning, training, recreation and rehabilitation for these young adults, providing practical skills to support them to lead independent lives.
Applications for the 2021 funding round will be accepted between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021 and will be considered at the June 2021 meeting.

Veolia Environmental Trust
Grants for constituted, not-for-profit organisations and local authorities for projects that make improvements to community facilities and the natural environment that are located near a qualifying Veolia site in England.
Community grants of between £10,000 and £75,000 are available for:
Projects with a total cost of no more than £250,000 (including VAT and professional costs).
Projects where the 10% Contributing Third Party (CTP) payment has been secured.
Environmental Improvement Grants start at £75,000. There is no upper limit. CTP payment is applicable.
The Veolia Environmental Trust was set up in 1997 under the Landfill Communities Fund and awards monies derived from landfill tax to support a wide range of environmentally focused projects throughout England. 
The Trust is a charity and an Environmental Body registered under the Landfill Tax Regulations established to protect, preserve and improve the environment for the benefit of the public.

Steel Charitable Trust
Grants are available to registered charities in the UK working in the areas of arts and heritage, education, environment, health, or social and economic disadvantage.
Grants are generally made as single payments of between £2,500 and £25,000.
The Steel Charitable Trust is a grant-making trust supporting general charitable purposes. The Steel Charitable Trust was established in 1976 by Mr Walter Reginald Steel and Mrs Marjorie Steel.
The Trust awards funding for projects that make a real impact in the areas of arts and heritage; education; environment; health; or social or economic disadvantage.
The next deadline for applications is 20 April 2021.

Baring Foundation - Arts and Mental Health Programme
Grants are available to arts organisations in the UK for projects that promote the role of creativity in the lives of people with mental health problems from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
Grants of between £10,000 and £40,000 are available.
The 2021 Arts and Mental Health Programme is provided and administered by the Baring Foundation.  The Foundation began a long-term funding programme in 2020 to strengthen the creative opportunities available for people with mental health problems in the UK.
The Foundation will hold a webinar on 11 March (4pm to 5pm) and 23 March (2:30pm to 3:30pm) during which they will introduce their new report and answer questions about the new funding round.
The deadline for applications is 21 April 2021 (12pm midday).
