HIVE Portsmouth works with people and organisations to improve the health and well-being of people in Portsmouth. Key partners include health and care statutory organisations, Portsmouth City Council, the University of Portsmouth and the hundreds of voluntary, community and social enterprise groups (VCSE) who play a pivotal role in supporting local people. We actively support the development of the VCSE sector within the City of Portsmouth and enable and support social action on issues within Portsmouth.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and community-minded Project Officer to help turn ideas into action across our projects and provide dedicated support to the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards in Paulsgrove and Landport.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who cares about communities, enjoys making things happen and can keep lots of moving parts connected. Working closely with colleagues, residents, partners and board members, you will help coordinate projects from planning through to delivery, keep strong reporting and governance in place, and support neighbourhood priorities to turn into real change. The role is based across HIVE Portsmouth and Pride in Place, normally working four days a week at HIVE Portsmouth and one day a week supporting the neighbourhood boards.
You will be organised, calm under pressure and great at building relationships. You might already have experience of coordinating projects, programmes or partnerships, or you may have developed transferable skills in a role where keeping things moving, working with people and staying on top of detail really matters. Most of all, you will care about making a difference, enjoy working collaboratively and feel motivated by the chance to support stronger communities across Portsmouth.
At HIVE Portsmouth, we believe in the power of people and communities to shape the places they live. Pride in Place is a long-term opportunity for local people to influence the future of their neighbourhoods, and this role will help make that happen. If you are passionate about turning ideas into action, building strong relationships and supporting community-led change, we would love to hear from you.
