The Portsmouth Peer Support and Wellbeing service is a new style of service offering peer support for anyone who feels low, worried or hopeless at the Portsmouth Wellbeing Centre, PositiveMinds. Please note our new location on Arundel St, Portsmouth.

Through 1:1 support and useful workshops, we can help you identify your needs and get you moving towards your goals. We also operate a 'tell us once' system: a chat with us can get you connected to your community and its services, without having to explain yourself again and again. We hope to put you in touch with the right support at the right time.

Simply book in to talk to peer support and wellbeing practitioners. The peer practitioners have lived through difficulties themselves and can relate to how you are feeling. We will work with you to identify goals and walk alongside you in your recovery journey.

Please note that our services are not a crisis centre or 'Mental Health A&E' and we don't stock or prescribe medication.

School Nurses in Portsmouth work in local authority schools, our role is to support the health and wellbeing of school age children by promoting good health to enable children to reach their full potential.

We work across all schools in Portsmouth often meeting families in schools, family hubs or where necessary, at the child’s home.

Unfortunately, we are unable to support with behaviour needs or identification/assessment of neuro disabilities and would recommend parents/carers to discuss these concerns with school.

Who can access the service?
Children who live and attend a school within Portsmouth city. Children who are educated at home can also access our service.

Provides support and treatment for individuals experiencing complex and/or prolonged bereavement
The service accepts referrals from any health professionals working in the service’s community catchment area, including GPs.

Solent NHS Trust Sexual Health Service provides Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) services across Hampshire (exc. Isle of Wight), Portsmouth and Southampton.

Our adventure playground is staffed by fully qualified Play Workers who encourage imagination, confidence and independence.

We also have garden and roof areas that are regularly used in the summer months when the sun is shining. Somerstown has a great community feel and our volunteers are a shining example of how everyone comes together to support the staff and playground on a regular basis.

Doctors Surgery

Somerstown Community Centre sits within the hub that spans Winston Churchill Avenue.

The iconic building contains a community café, large rooms for varied activities, sports hall, dance studio and IT suite.

The community centre is open 7 days a week and is home to a wide range of activities.

The group aims provides a safe space to think about ways to support your own wellbeing and good mental health.
