Socials for SeniorsOur group aims to help alleviate loneliness and isolation for seniors (age 65+) who live on their own. We are based at the CourtX tennis pavilion, on Eastern Parade. We now have opportunities seven days a week to get together, including coffee afternoons, lunches and suppers. We also arrange bus trips together to places of interest.

Society of St James Rough Sleeping HubWe work in close partnership with Portsmouth City Council and other local providers to end homelessness in Portsmouth. Society of St James’ dedicated staff support rough sleepers through our Rough Sleeping Support Service.
This is the first point of contact for many people who have found themselves homeless in Portsmouth. Becoming homeless is a truly frightening experience and many people who come through our door are distressed and confused and simply don’t know where to turn. We aim to make people feel safe and welcome and then we start to build a relationship with them so that we can understand their circumstances and help them to find the support they need. We provide breakfast, hot drinks, shower and laundry facilities, access to the internet, locker facilities for people to store their belongings and we can help people with clothing. Our staff are always available to help people to sort out their immediate needs, including: Support applying or managing welfare benefits Registering with a GP Help with substance misuse Help in finding accommodation Referring for appropriate housing We also offer a therapeutic programme of meaningful activities, including arts and craft workshops, educational sessions to help people improve their literacy and numeracy skills and life skills workshops. Regular food available. We have regular visiting support from substance misuse services, healthcare professionals and from Portsmouth city council’s housing team, who can advise on accommodation options. Solent Mind - Portsmouth Community Peer Recovery TeamRecovering from a period of poor mental health can feel overwhelming as there may be obstacles to navigate and new anxieties before gaining back your independence.
Our Community Peer Recovery Team (or CPRT for short) can offer you the help that you need to set manageable goals, access the support you need and start getting back on your feet. Our support is special because our staff have their own lived experience of living with a mental health issue. As well as practical advice, we can share our own stories, experiences, provide hope and become a role model in your time of need. Portsmouth

Our Primary and Secondary teams provide personalised information, advice and guidance in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The Secondary Employment Team also offers placement support by helping you discover skills and qualities that make you an asset to employers, then matching them to local industries where you will thrive. Solent Mind Portsmouth Peer Support and Wellbeing TeamThe Portsmouth Peer Support and Wellbeing service is a new style of service offering peer support for anyone who feels low, worried or hopeless at the Portsmouth Wellbeing Centre, PositiveMinds. Please note our new location on Arundel St, Portsmouth.
Through 1:1 support and useful workshops, we can help you identify your needs and get you moving towards your goals. We also operate a 'tell us once' system: a chat with us can get you connected to your community and its services, without having to explain yourself again and again. We hope to put you in touch with the right support at the right time. Simply book in to talk to peer support and wellbeing practitioners. The peer practitioners have lived through difficulties themselves and can relate to how you are feeling. We will work with you to identify goals and walk alongside you in your recovery journey. We can support you with: Drop-in Face to face sessions 1:1 Support Advice and guidance Workshops around managing wellbeing Support Groups Social inclusion Graded Exposure Please note that our services are not a crisis centre or 'Mental Health A&E' and we don't stock or prescribe medication.
