Started in 2017, The Makers Guild is a completely self funded series of makerspaces in the heart of Portsmouth that supports creatives living in and around this seaside city.
With facilities for crafts people, designers and engineers, there is always something interesting happening.

Making Space is a community-based craft organisation that creates opportunities for people to discover and develop design and making skills, increasing personal wellbeing through involvement in high-quality craft. We promote excellence in contemporary craft, design and visual arts.

Med3 Music is a Portsmouth based music group for people experiencing enduring mental health problems. We offer peer to peer support & social interaction for members who may otherwise be socially isolated through a shared musical experience.

We are a friendly, fun choir that meet every Friday at 7:30pm at St James church hall in Milton, Portsmouth

MY BOY CAN is a project to raise awareness and support for our sons who are often misunderstood by the social constraints of Male Gender.

To encourage diversity and inclusion within our society, to stop saying a boy can't or shouldn't do something because he is a boy and start saying My Boy Can.

The PYC Service sits within Portsmouth City Council’s Housing, Neighbourhood and Buildings Directorate. Our locality based provision is supported by additional council funding and grants which enable us to offer open access services to all City residents.

PYC manages four community centres; provides six staffed adventure playgrounds and four youth clubs across the city and runs three additional youth projects. We also administer the HAF programme on behalf of the Children’s, Families and Education Directorate.

Play and Youth spaces support from early childhood in to adulthood, providing safe recreational spaces which are also informal educational environments, where children and young people are supported with their mental health and wellbeing.

Our staff receive specialist training in safeguarding and restorative practice, and in supporting children, young people and their families.

We run workshops in areas that impact children and young people, such as domestic abuse; healthy relationships; knife crime and exploitation; and eating healthily; thereby contributing as an early intervention service, reducing anti-social behaviour, risk of harm and improving life chances.

The objective of the adventure playgrounds is to offer ‘freely chosen play’ in adherence to Article 31 of the UN convention on the rights of the child to engage in play and recreational activity and participate freely in cultural life.

Youth work offers young people safe spaces to explore their identity, experience decision-making, increase their confidence, develop inter-personal skills and think through the consequences of their actions. This leads to better informed choices, changes in activity and improved outcomes for young people.

All libraries in Portsmouth offer a range of books and resources for adults, carers and children that aim to help you improve your health and wellbeing. All our libraries have Wellbeing Zones where you can browse up to date books and leaflets on any aspect of mental and physical health. Our staff are also happy to signpost you to local services that can help you manage your own health.

As a small band of approx ten people we are a very friendly and supportive group of individuals of mixed abilities. We enjoy playing popular tunes that the audience can sing along and dance to. This is not typical of traditional brass bands.

We fully support anybody that used to play a brass instrument, whatever their ability, that wishes to return to the hobby and meet new friends.

We rehearse at The Deaf Centre in Arundel Street, Fratton, PO1 14X, Monday and Thursday nights 7:30pm - 9pm.
