National Bereavement ServiceSupporting anyone who has been bereaved, UK wide.
Most people have to take responsibility for practical arrangements after a death just once or twice so are not familiar with the long list of tasks that await them. These include registering a death, arranging a funeral, and dealing with the person’s money and property which may need probate. All this must be done during a time that is usually emotionally very painful. The NBS team of advisors can cope with any and every question about what to do after a death. Usually, we have the answer but if we don’t, we will know who does. Our information service is free and impartial, working with people to identify the best solution in their circumstances using straight-forward language. We combine this approach with empathy and understanding of the experience of bereavement and, if needed, can direct people to longer term sources of emotional support. Ponds Court Business Park

Nurture Bereavement SupportBereavement support for children and young people.
As the tragedy of Covid-19 unfolds the death toll continues to rise, it won’t be long before everyone will know of someone who has died. Children and young people can be badly affected by loss and adults often don’t have the skills or courage to talk openly about it with them. Nurtureuk has produced a specially edited version of their Bereavement Box that helps anyone supporting bereaved children and young people understand what they may be experiencing with helpful suggestions on approaches and exercises to help children cope better with their grief. The Bereavement Guide is available to download free of charge |
