Improving Your Emotional Wellbeing

Cruse Bereavement Care South Hampshire

We help people through one of the most painful times in life – with bereavement support, information and campaigning.

Our Helpline is run by trained bereavement volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by grief.

We’ll give you space to talk about your feelings and how you’ve been coping. Our volunteers are completely non-judgemental and won’t share what you’ve told them with anyone else, unless you are in danger.

Cruse Bereavement Support

Cruse offers a free and confidential service to anyone affected and bereaved by suicide, or suspected suicide, in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

When someone dies by suicide, or suspected suicide, it can be one of the most difficult and distressing times of someone’s life. The impact on families, friends and communities can be devastating.
Some people need support straight away, others reach out later – and that’s ok. We are all different and our own personal circumstances will also be different.
Whether you need emotional support or practical support, Cruse's team of specialists are here to help you.

Cruse can help with:
• Individual support for adults
• Individual support for children and young people and their families
• Practical support when dealing with the Police or Coroner
• Help on an individual basis, in groups or community settings
• Support for schools and workplaces

Gig Buddies(Aldingbourne Trust)

The idea behind Gig Buddies is that we enable people with a learning disability and / or autism to enjoy everything great within their community.

To enable and support people to do this, we recruit volunteers from within the community who are then paired with individuals based on their likes and interests so they can attend events, socialise and enjoy a number of activities together.

By matching people with the same interests and passions this in turn develops into a genuine friendship and begins to diminish social isolation.

Each participant is matched with a volunteer and then plan to meet once a month to go to a gig, concert, theatre, football, cinema or a catch up in the local park or down the local pub. Group activities are planned monthly whereby everyone can get together and share their stories and make new friends.

By being paired with a gig buddy, not only are real friendships made but the experience increases self-confidence, teaches new skills, increases independent travel, expands social networks and enables people to have lots of fun.
