Kings TheatreWe offer many different events in and around the theatre for all to enjoy.
There are a number of tours available within the theatre, we currently run: History Tours – Step behind the scenes and see our iconic theatre from a new perspective! Ghost Tours – Explore the theatre at night! Are you brave enough? Toddler Tours – An interactive tour for the little ones! Technical Tours – Discover the methods and magic behind our magnificent productions School Tours – Experience learning in a unique and distinctive environment that will inspire and engage! Kings Community Sing A fun group singing initiative, perfect for those 18+ and all singing abilities. Meet new people whilst enjoying a complimentary tea/coffee before joining in a range of exciting and varied songs. This group runs on Friday Mornings and costs £1.50 per session, with a complimentary hot drink The weekly sessions are £1.50 (pay as you go), 9-10.30am. The group will be held in our Stalls, which is fully accessible and can be found on Albert Road. Coffee Mornings Every Wednesday we run coffee mornings in our beautiful Stalls bar, from 10-12pm; 1st Wednesday Coffee & Crafts – bring along your latest project, get tips and advice and of course enjoy a bit of natter! Supported by Seeded. 2nd Wednesday Coffee & Cards – time for ‘fun & games’ – cards, draughts, chess and more or why not bring along your favourite game! 3rd Wednesday Coffee & Chapters - let's chat about the latest books we're all reading, what we'd recommend to others, favourite authors and much more! 4th Wednesday Coffee & Conversation – A variety of talks and discussions! LGBTQIA+ inclusive Stay and Play (Home-Start Portsmouth)Our LGBTQIA+ inclusive Stay & Play Group for parents and children under the age of 5, every Friday afternoon at Northern Parade Family Hub.
This group will be a safe place for families and a chance to connect with families who share the experiences that come with parenting when part of the LGBTQIA+ community, It will give children a chance to see versions of their own family reflected back at them. Make ‘N’ PlayMake ‘N’ Play is an art and messy play group for young children and their parents/carers.
Our sessions are an hour long, where your child will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of play. Children can explore messy play, sensory play and simple art & craft activities, finishing with a short singing time, a drink and a biscuit! Mainly aimed at under 5 year olds, but we will also be running through the school holidays and older siblings are very welcome. Music MattersTeaching music to young SEN/D people and young people with mental health difficulties or challenging life circumstances
Music matters is a non Profit org dedicated to helping young people with SEN/D mental health difficulties or challenging life circumstances. For children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEN/D), mental health difficulties, or challenging life circumstances, research shows that music can be of great benefit. Here at music matters we believe that music should be accessible to everyone, so we are breaking down the barriers that come with learning an instrument and making music... We work with a variety of partners to provide bespoke music projects to support children and young people with additional needs and disabilities to access high quality music making. Working alongside schools and alternative education systems to deliver the highest quality sessions, Our young people feel the benefits of inclusion, confidence building, and finding their own creativity. |
Needlework and Handcraft GroupSet up over 40 years ago the Needlework and Handcraft Group at Cosham Community Centre started life at Cosham Park House, the mid-nineteenth century listed building which is now a doctor's surgery.
The group meet every Tuesday and Friday morning at the Community Centre in Wooton Street and offers a variety of crafts including patchwork, applique, beadwork, cross-stitch, knitting, embroidery, crochet and all forms of paper craft. Cosham
