Riding for the Disabled (RDA)is an internationally recognised Charity that enables riders with disabilities to undertake riding. Fort Widley is an affiliated Riding Centre where we undertake lessons and walkouts for a variety of disabilities. Each lesson or walk out is tailored for the individual, considering their needs and ambitions. We can supply leaders and side walkers to ensure that each and every rider feels as secure as possible.

Each module provides clinically-backed support for trouble sleeping, coping with stress, developing mindfulness, financial worries and experiencing grief and loss.

Solent Mind - Portsmouth Community Peer Recovery Team

Recovering from a period of poor mental health can feel overwhelming as there may be obstacles to navigate and new anxieties before gaining back your independence.

Our Community Peer Recovery Team (or CPRT for short) can offer you the help that you need to set manageable goals, access the support you need and start getting back on your feet.

Our support is special because our staff have their own lived experience of living with a mental health issue. As well as practical advice, we can share our own stories, experiences, provide hope and become a role model in your time of need.

Solent Mind - Portsmouth Employment Support Service

If you live with a mental health issue, work can be a great way to find structure, routine and connect with others. If you've not been working because of your illness, or you're employed but feel like you are struggling at work, our Employment Support Service can help.

Our Primary and Secondary teams provide personalised information, advice and guidance in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Secondary Employment Team also offers placement support by helping you discover skills and qualities that make you an asset to employers, then matching them to local industries where you will thrive. We can also support you with 1:1 support as you continue in a new role.

Solent Mind Portsmouth Peer Support and Wellbeing Team

The Portsmouth Peer Support and Wellbeing service is a new style of service offering peer support for anyone who feels low, worried or hopeless at the Portsmouth Wellbeing Centre, PositiveMinds. Please note our new location on Arundel St, Portsmouth.

Through 1:1 support and useful workshops, we can help you identify your needs and get you moving towards your goals. We also operate a 'tell us once' system: a chat with us can get you connected to your community and its services, without having to explain yourself again and again. We hope to put you in touch with the right support at the right time.

Simply book in to talk to peer support and wellbeing practitioners. The peer practitioners have lived through difficulties themselves and can relate to how you are feeling. We will work with you to identify goals and walk alongside you in your recovery journey.

We can support you with:

Face to face sessions
1:1 Support
Advice and guidance
Workshops around managing wellbeing
Support Groups
Social inclusion
Graded Exposure

Please note that our services are not a crisis centre or 'Mental Health A&E' and we don't stock or prescribe medication.

For immediate, 24/7 support you can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call 116 123. If you would prefer not to talk but want some mental health support, you could text SHOUT to 85258.

Southsea Community Choir

The Southsea Community Choir

Please see Facebook for more information

Established in 2007 by Janet Ayers, the choir now performs two concerts a year and Sing for Water Portsmouth, plus various busking performances locally, raising money for local and national charities.
We sing songs from all over the world, in lots of different languages, plus English, all unaccompanied in 4 part harmony. Songs to celebrate the passing of the seasons of nature and the seasons of life.
The choir is open to anyone who wants to sing, no audition and no experience necessary, just the willingness to jump in and have a go.
